Natural Capital Initiative summit, 6 & 7 November 2014, British Library, London.

 

The Natural Capital Initiative (NCI) will be hosting their second “Valuing Our Life Support Systems” event in London at the British Library on the 6-7 November 2014. Since the NCI launch event in 2009, a growing number of influential activities have emerged across all sectors within the natural capital space – from networks to research programmes, committees to coalitions.  Five years on, the NCI will once again bring together 250 influencers from across academia, policy, business, and civil society within this expanded community and beyond to assess gains made and further enable the valuing of natural capital in planning and decision-making based on sound science. Allan Buckwell (IEEP), Peter Costigan (independent consultant), Tara Garnett (Food Climate Research Network) and Andrew Clark (NFU) will discuss natural capital and food security. Other speakers include Bill Sutherland (University of Cambridge), Georgina Mace (UCL), Giles Atkinson (LSE) &Matthew Agarwala (UEA).
